There is a lot of change going on with the public face of Jeffrey Morris Photography but, to quote Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr, “Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose—the more things change the more they stay the same. While our look and addresses have changed, our commitment to what really matters has not.
The process of discovering our new brand identity brought about a sharper focus and renewed emphasis to the core values and beliefs that drive everything we do—our commitment to creativity, individual expression, artistic merit, simple elegance, and exceptional care and comfort of all our clients (bipedal or quadrupedal). Indeed, every aspect and element of our new brand was created to reflect these values. Working with Lisa Gorham Creative was an exercise in self evaluation and, as I discussed in The Next Chapter, one that was long due. It led not only to new visuals that better represent the core values and goals of Jeffrey Morris Photography, but to a new web strategy with new URL’s, revised email addresses, new social media names and more. Anything that did not represent our core values was subject to revision. It was important to me that every visual touchpoint we present and every interaction in which we engage reflects our artistic goals, our commitment to reveal the beauty in individual expression, our approach to our work in a straight-forward yet elegant manner, and our deep concern for your care and comfort throughout. And I believe that Lisa found a way to express these values in some truly beautiful designs.
Simple, elegant, bold yet not interfering with what is even more important—my photography.
And the new logo led to other new visual designs that bring everything up a notch or two. Pick a card, any card.
Part of my goal in going through the rebranding process was to make each of our core business offerings more easily accessible. Now you can go directly to jeffreymorrisportraits.com if you are interested in creative art portraiture, family or child portraits, or headshots. If you are interested in our pet photography, stroll over to jeffreymorrispets.com. Or you can come here, morriscaptured.com, as a launch point or to see what’s new in our blog. And, of course, you can always use jeffreymorrisphotography.com to find anything.
To keep everything under the family name, we have revised our social media names as well. Although jeffreyindc might someday reappear as a personal Instagram profile, @morriscaptured is now the new tag for Jeffrey Morris Photography on both Instagram and Facebook. You can search for either @morriscaptured or Jeffrey Morris Photography on both platforms, but if you have bookmarked external links we hope that you will update them: https://www.instagram.com/morriscaptured/ and https://www.facebook.com/morriscaptured.
Our pet photography Instagram has also been renamed (although to the chagrin of model-in-residence Imogen for whom it was originally named). You will now find all the pet love at @jeffreymorrispets. Stop over and say woof (and settle down, Imi, you will not only still be featured there but also in a new story line in our Blog here—good girl).
Perhaps closest to my heart is our new tagline. Lisa came up with the play on words, but it also expresses in a short phrase what is most important about to our style of photography. Really good photography is not just about capturing a technically great photo that is well composed (although we have that down too). Rather, what makes great photography is capturing an expression that reveals your individual spirit, capturing the joy of a child or the excitement of a puppy, capturing the motion and the emotion of a fleeting moment. More is captured with expression. More is captured with creativity. More is captured with love.
